Given today's challenging marketplace and changing workforce, companies must ask themselves if they are strategically leveraging the critical knowledge that their organizations will need to survive. It has become critical that companies have effective means of managing business information and organizational knowledge before it walks out the door or is otherwise lost in time.
The San Antonio Human Resource Management Association (SAHRMA), has partnered with CPS Energy, the San Antonio Association for Organizational Development (SAAOD) and APQC to offer a Knowledge Management Symposium on Friday, September 23, 2011 at Valero.
The Knowledge Management Symposium is designed to enable participants to:
• Walk away with tools and models for knowledge management that can be taken back and easily implemented • Expand awareness of knowledge management • Identify knowledge management methods that are easily accessible and applicable • Identify knowledge management technologies that are relevant and accessible • Walk away with best practices • Learn about KM methods that will work for all employees at all levels in the organization • Build relationships with local organizations in order to foster collaboration in the implementation of knowledge capture, retention and transfer
APQC will effectively address and share best practices in knowledge retention, knowledge capture and knowledge transfer, including: • How can we capture or transfer knowledge without it becoming extra work? • How can we build awareness of knowledge management? • What is the APQC methodology? • How can we move knowledge management from an academic experience to practical application and meaningful results?
The Knowledge Management Symposium is an excellent opportunity for organizations to learn cutting edge concepts and methods to effectively implement knowledge capture, retention and transfer practices and procedures.
