  • Officially registered on SAHRMA Website or received by the telephone message center prior to Noon of the Thursday before the meeting. To secure your reservation you will need to pay in advance by credit card or check.

Learning Objective: In a workplace investigation, everything you do creates evidence - this session will focus on the life cycle of that information, from investigation, anticipation of litigation, preserving information, through the trial process - and how a juror sees your notes. 

Susan Cone Kilgore 
Susan Cone Kilgore has over 28 years of legal experience. She practices employment law, commercial litigation, advises clients on international law issues, and mediates disputes. She is licensed to practice in the State of Texas, the District of Columbia, the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, the Fourth, Fifth, Eleventh, and District of Columbia Circuit Courts of Appeals, and the Eastern, Northern, Southern, and Western Districts of Texas and the District of Columbia. 
Ms. Kilgore formed her own firm in San Antonio, Texas in 2008, where she served as Assistant City Attorney for the City of Castle Hills, Texas and as an Independent Hearing Examiner appointed by the Texas Education Agency, before joining King & Sommer, PLLC, in 2017. 


Karen A. Monsen 
Karen A. Monsen has more than 17 years of legal experience. She practices employment law and commercial litigation and arbitration in state, national, and international forums. She also drafts technology and certain international contracts, and advises on intellectual property issues. In addition to these general practices, she focuses on electronic discovery, forensic investigations, cybersecurity, and document retention and destruction implementation. She has handled numerous appellate matters in the state of Texas and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. She is licensed to practice in the State of Texas, the United States Supreme Court, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Western, Northern, and Southern Districts of Texas. 
She clerked for Honorable Bea Ann Smith on the Third Court of Appeals in Austin, Texas. Ms. Monsen was a partner with Jackson Walker, L.L.P. (2001 – 2013) before joining King & Sommer, PLLC in 2013.
